Automated control of high-efficiency constant current DC power supply and its value in industrial applications

Since the early 1980s, constant current DC power supplies have been widely used in the field of electrostatic precipitator. With their unique power supply capabilities and excellent performance, they have quickly gained high recognition from experts in the industry. Especially in environments with complex flue gas changes, this power supply has become the first choice for electrostatic precipitator equipment. At present, it has been applied in many industries such as cement manufacturing, steel production, coking processing and non-ferrous metal smelting, and provides dust collection for vertical kilns, electric dust collection at the end of rotary kiln, sintering machine dust collection, electric tar treatment, and electric dust collection. and electric defoggering and other operations provide effective power solutions.

Power supply characteristics and advantages of constant current DC power supply
A constant current DC power supply, also known as a constant current source, is a power supply device designed to output a constant current, and its output current is not affected by load changes. This feature gives it significant advantages in electrostatic precipitator applications, especially the positive feedback mechanism of its power supply characteristics, which allows the power supply to dynamically adjust the output according to the real-time power requirements of the precipitator, thereby maintaining efficient dust removal performance. For example, when the dust collector faces an increase in dust concentration, the constant current power supply can immediately increase the output voltage to provide greater electrical power to ensure that the dust removal efficiency is not affected. This positive feedback effect not only improves the ability to adapt to different working conditions, but also ensures the stability of equipment operation and long-term efficient dust removal performance. In addition, the L-C loop design used in the constant current power supply effectively avoids distortion of the output waveform, increases the operating voltage and current level of the dust collector, and further enhances the dust removal efficiency. Because it is a current source design, the constant current power supply can easily cope with transient and steady-state short circuit conditions. At the same time, the modular parallel structure design also greatly improves the reliability of the system and the convenience of maintenance.
Control mode of constant current DC power supply
With the advancement of technology, the control methods of constant current DC power supplies are also constantly evolving. At present, there are mainly three control modes: the first is the traditional manual control mode, which relies on the operator to adjust the working current through buttons on the control cabinet panel. It is suitable for situations where the operation is simple and does not require frequent adjustment of settings. The second is an automatic control mode that combines LCD screens, touch switches and microcontrollers. This mode supports integration with the central DCS system to achieve centralized management and control, improving operational flexibility and intelligence. The third type is an automatic control method that combines a touch screen with a PLC (programmable logic controller), which further improves the accuracy of control and convenience of operation, and meets the high requirements of modern industrial automation for power control technology.
